‘Developing High Quality Services’ Action Learning Programme for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, (2011-12)

This programme was designed to improve the quality of supervision; it also supported Stoke’s journey to become an adaptive learning organisation in line with the Munro Review recommendations. The programme was launched at an Open Space event in June 2011 and ended with a whole system Learning Exchange in May 2012. Four Action Learning Sets (ALSs) for Managers ran, in two phases, from June 2011 to January 2012 (Principal Managers) and November 2011 to May 2012 (Practice Managers). In order to build a sustainable model Managers had the opportunity to train as Facilitators’, thus building internal capacity to run ALSs and reflective case discussion forums, and support overall quality improvement.
