An Action Learning Programme for Directors and Assistant Chief Officers of Probation (2012-2014)

A total of seven action learning groups were commissioned. These were attended by 50 senior managers in probation, helping participants respond to a time of major change in the National Probation service. The programme included a start-up day and five full day sessions meeting every six to eight weeks. The positive evaluation of the first programme of three action learning sets led to commissioning a second programme, which was extended to four groups in response to huge demand and the reputation of the programme.
